Miss Montgomery County
Farm Bureau Named
Abbey Linthicum,
17, was named 2009 Miss
Montgomery County Farm Bureau during the
organization’s annual picnic. The Damascus High
School senior is the
daughter of
Tom and Paula Linthicum.
Abbey’s family
owns and operates a 1,000 acre
grain farm in Laytonsville
and she is a member of the Montgomery County
Farm Bureau Young Farmers. The 11-year 4-H
member is sheep
vice president in the Montgomery County
Sheep & Swine Club and
co-president of the
Laytonsville Seniors 4-H
Club. Her 4-H projects
include sheep, swine, horticulture, leadership,
community service, sewing and cooking. Abbey
will be a member of the 4-H Royal Fair
Court at this year’s fair and is also president
of the Damascus FFA Chapter
where she carries supervised agricultural
experiences in livestock production
and agricultural communications.
After high
school, Abbey plans to attend college majoring
in agricultural education concentrating in
leadership and communications.
She is very excited to
serve as Miss Montgomery
County Farm Bureau and looks forward to
promoting agriculture in Montgomery County.
