Dan and Elizabeth Derr of
Spring Valley Farm near Conowingo, Maryland were the recipients of the William Cissel Outstanding Farm Operation of the Year Award
presented at the Cecil County
Farm Bureau's Annual Banquet
on April 4, 2009.

The family moved to their 60 acre
farm in 1970 and today it operates
as a pick-your-own operation for raspberries, blackberries, sour
cherries, peaches and plums. 
The farm is well known in the
area for its blueberries which are
usually ready for picking around July.
